Metals, nonmetals, and metalliods are differnt because metals are shiny and conduct heat but nonmetals are not shiny and do not conduct heat and mettaliods are traits of both metals and nonmetals
Metals are shiny , but nonmetals usually aren't but they can, and metalloids may be, Metals are hard and malleable metalloids not as often, and non-metals are uncommonly malleable.
Metals are malleable, good conductors to heat and electricity, high melting points, and shiny. Nonmetals have low melting points, very brittle, not shiny, and not a good conductor. Metalloids can conduct electricity and heat in certain conditions and have properties of both metals and metalloids.
A metal is an element thst is shiny and conducts heat and electricity well.
A non-metal is an element that conducts heat and electricity very poorly.
A metalloid: some elements are classified as non-metals that can conduct some heat and some electricity, under certain conditions and are considered in their own groups as metalloids.
Metals can conduct heat well, while Non-metals cannot. Metals are malleable, and non-metals are not malleable. Metals have luster, while non metals do not. Metalloids have traits of both Metals and Non-Metals.
My answer was incomplete - this is in addition to what I have already posted (as a comment) on this post. Metals - Have higher melting points than anything else, and are good conductors of heat + electricity. Nonmetals - Not good conductors, of heat OR electricity and usually have lower melting points. And Metalloids are somewhere in-between the two.
Metals, Non-Metals and Metalloids are one way to classify the periodic table. Some properties of metals are, a shiny luster, a high melting point, being malleable and they are a conductor heat and electricity. Non- metals, on the other hand, do not have shiny luster, they have dull luster, they have a low melting point, its not malleable and they do not conduct heat and electricity well. Metalloids can have properties of both. Fact- There are more Metals on the periodic table then non-metals and metalloids. Caroline Low Riders
metal is shiny conducts heat well nonmetal is except for hydrogen found on the right side of the periodic table metalloids is conduct electricity well under certain conditions
A metal is an element that is shiny and conducts heat and electricity well. Most of the elements on the periodic table are metals. A nonmetal is an element that is bad at conducting heat and electricity. A metalloid shares properties of both metals and nonmetals.
metals are shiny, malleable, have a high melting point, good conductor of heat and electricty. Non metals are not shiny, brittle, have a low melting point and are a insulator. A metalloid is in between metals and nonmetals and conduct electricty and but not as good a metal but higher than a non metal.
Metal is shiny and conducts heat and electricity very good. Non-Metals are elements and are not shiny and are dull but some conduct heat and electricity well. Metalloid can conduct heat, conduct electricity, dull shiny and luster :D

ReplyDeleteMetals are shiny , but nonmetals usually aren't but they can, and metalloids may be, Metals are hard and malleable metalloids not as often, and non-metals are uncommonly malleable.
ReplyDeleteMetals are not malleable and have a lot of luster Non metals are very malleable and have no luster metalloids are some where in between.

A metalloid: some elements are classified as non-metals that can conduct some heat and some electricity, under certain conditions and are considered in their own groups as metalloids.
Metals have a shiny luster,non-metals poor conducters of heat, and metalliods are similar to metal and non-metal.

ReplyDeleteMetals are- malleable, good conductors of heat and electricity, shiny/have luster, and have high melting points
ReplyDeleteNonmetals- insulators, brittle
Metalloids- can change between having the properties of metals and nonmetals
Metals- conduct heat well
ReplyDeleteNon metals- conduct heat poorly
Metalloids- has both traits

Metals can be conductors of heat and electricity. Non-metals can NOT produce heat or electricity. Non-metals can be both.
ReplyDeleteThe interesting thing about metalloids is that they could either conduct heat or electricity without conducting both or neither! :)

metals: shiny and it conduits electricity and heat
ReplyDeleteMetals
ReplyDeleteAre shiny and are the best conducts of heat and electracty very well. They are normaly found on the right side of the peridoc table.
